To All Members:
I'm very pleased to introduce Ms. Kelley Blanchard, who joined the ASMC HQ staff on 19 November as our first ever Associate Director for Education and Training. Kelley has great experience in the training and education field, having served since 2014 as the Vice President, Education and Professional Development for the Career Education Colleges and Universities association, located in Washington DC. Also, since 2010, she served in two other non-profit associations in positions as first a Senior Education Coordinator and then as Manager, Accreditation and Education Programs. I look forward to all that Kelley will accomplish in not only leading our current education and professional development program and activities, but in taking ASMC's education and training activities to the next level using her knowledge and experience in the use of education technology tools, as we maximize benefits for our 17,000 members of ASMC and support the professionalism of the defense financial management community overall.
This position also enables ASMC to establish the "firewall," that most large associations have as a best practice, between their education/training activities and their certification/testing activities. As more of our chapters designate Chairs or VPs of Education and Professional Development as part of chapter officer positions, in addition to Kelley's other responsibilities, she will be communicating with them to provide information, answer questions, and share good ideas and best practices, as we work to develop an
Engage community group for chapter officers serving in these positions. Some chapters already have individuals serving as Chairs for Programs or for Training and Education, etc who lead the chapter in planning and developing education and training activities.
