It is important to recognize outstanding employees and colleagues for their hard work, dedication, and exceptional achievements. ASMC offers the opportunity to recognize these dedicated professionals on a national level with the ASMC Achievement Awards. ASMC Achievement Award nominations are accepted in nine fields of comptrollership as well as a small team (10 or less) and a large team (11-20). Below are the achievement award categories:

    • Accounting
    • Acquisition and Cost Analysis
    • Auditing
    • Budgeting
    • Comptroller/Deputy Comptroller
    • Contractor Support
    • Finance
    • Intern/Trainee
    • Resource Management
    • Small Team
    • Large Team

Definitions of the categories can be found at https://asmc.secure-platform.com/a/organizations/main/home.

Selected awardees and respective nominators will be notified in early April.  Awards are presented at the Professional Development Institute (PDI) in Denver, Colorado from 30 May to 1 June 2018.

    Who can be Nominated

Any personnel in the Department of Defense or the United States Coast Guard (to include National Guard or Reserve Components) may nominate a person or team who has demonstrated outstanding performance, including exceptional achievements. Each nomination must be submitted via the ASMC Awards Online website by 31 January 2018. The award nomination is limited to the space provided, citing specific and factual details. Nominations should strive to include the most relevant quantitative and qualitative information possible, focusing on the results achieved by the accomplishments. If an individual is nominated in more than one category, prepare a separate entry for each category. Incomplete nominations will not be considered.

Do not use acronyms in your write-ups and avoid phraseology specific to your organization. Award judges will be members of various DoD services and may not know the meaning of the specific word or acronym.

    How Nominations will be Judged

    • 500 words on Resource savings (describe monetary and non-monetary savings). This is worth 15%.
    • 500 words on Complexity and Leadership (describe how difficult it was to develop and implement the effort and any leadership skills). This is worth 35%.
    • 500 words on impact (describe the impact to the organization, community or service). This is worth 50%.

If you have any questions or need assistance with getting into the system, please contact Jennifer Sizemore at awards@asmconline.org for technical issues or Donna Call at dcall.asmcawards@yahoo.com. for programmatic questions.
